Many of you know that we came to purchase New Market BBQ in June of 2008 after 4 years of traveling, setting up at flea markets, fairs, and various events preparing the BEST Kettle Corn and homemade Lemon Shakers found in the TN Valley under the business name Keel Mountain Kettle Corn! I'm sure you guys had our food if you attended Big Spring Jam, Lincoln County Fair, Bell Buckle Craft Fair, or any of the many races / events at the Nashville Super Speedway. Was some FUN days for sure!! Anywho, one of the many items we prepared during our days of concession work was Roasted Corn on the Cob, among other things such as BBQ!! That is where we first got excited about cooking Q for others.
It took us a couple years of really getting our little mom and pop shop joint here at New Market BBQ running as smoothly as we wanted it to be before we could introduce some of our concession favorites. Well, actually, the first couple years we attempted to continue cooking our Kettle Corn at the restaurant. Unfortunately, we just didn't have the space or clean environment for it to be conducive. It was really disappointing that we had to discontinue our Kettle Corn, but it actually made way for us to bring in the Roasted Corn on the Cob and you guys have been IN LOVE ever since!
We actually rotate off the menu our Brunswick Stew in April and fire up the Roasted Corn and serve it thru the summer months till the end of August. Starting in September we bring the Brunswick Stew back on the menu. Speaking of Stew, did you guys get any set aside in your freezer for those nights when you really have the taste for it? Normally we get an entire batch made and into the freezer in half gallon containers for you to purchase through out the summer, but not this year.. Just didn't happen cause you guys kept buying it all up, every single batch we made! LOL!
I digress my way back to Roasted Corn again. Have you tried it before? As far as we know, we are the only restaurant in the entire area that prepares it as a regular menu item. We hope you get a chance to stop in and give it a try! It's pretty amazing and you have several seasonings to choose from to dress it up like you like it! Examples include: New Market BBQ Dry Rub (available to purchase in the restaurant or here online), Lawry's Seasoning Salt, Lawry's Garlic Salt, standard Salt & Pepper (which we've blended for you), and then of course butter. We find it easiest to use Spray Butter. Less messy and easier for you guys to dress up your ears and devour them!
I'd like to point out one more thing here before I close out this post. Have you checked in lately with us on Foursquare?
We have DEALS that you can claim, just as a BIG THANK YOU for taking the time to Check-In and let others know you are enjoying a great meal with us! Be sure to do this before you place your order, so you can show us your phone / tablet to get the discounts being offered. We are also giving Loyalty Rewards to those who check-in often, so don't forget!! And to help us spread the word, be sure to share your Check-In on Facebook and Twitter! We are grateful for your support!
We look forward to serving your family soon! Remember, we are open Friday & Saturday 11-7 and Sundays 11-4.
