Remebering Maya Angelou – Serving & treating others the way you want to be treated

I'm deeply saddened to hear that Maya Angelou has passed on at the age of 86.  Rest well as you've done great work here in this world.  I've always been moved by her writing and speaking. Strong, courageous, and inspiring are just a few of the words that come to mind when I think about Maya Angelou. 

One of her most memorable quotes is really the cornerstone of how we run our business here at New Market BBQ.

Treating others with kindness, respect and LOVE seem so obvious but are missing from the lives of so many.  We work hard everyday in our business to ensure that we leave a positive impression with our customers and even potential customers through our interactions, whether it be on our porch, while doing business with other business' or online here on our website or other social channels.

We only have one life to live in this world, and it's our to make the most of it. Leave people you encounter with a positive feeling and they'll remember you for it and call on you later.  Leave people with a negative experience, they'll also remember you for it and WON'T call on you later when they most need your help.

Build people up, do not tear them down. Lets make this world a better place and follow in the footsteps of such an amazing woman who has impacted so many.
