New Market BBQ Receives a Health Department Rating of 99 and the Golden Spoon Award from WHNT News 19

As restaurant owners, one of the biggest responsibilities we have is food safety and cleanliness for our customers, and we take this responsibility very seriously! We work hard every day to keep our little place in tip top shape as we would expect anyone else to do in the establishments we visit.  We are inspected every 3-5 months by the Madison County Health Department, and from all of the various inspectors we've had over the years, we find them all to be very thorough.  Some of the shows you see on TV about restaurants with the nasty kitchens, really makes you wonder how in the world they are open and not already shut down. I can assure you, at least from our experience, that the Health Department Inspectors in our area don't allow such things. Again, that is just from what we've seen here at our little place. I hope they continue to be thorough and expect nothing but the best from our local restaurateurs.

We've always received high 90's scores, but this is the first 99 we've received. He really had to look hard for that 1 point item, because they really don't like to give 100's.  You don't see them often.  We were VERY surprised to hear thru our Facebook Fanpage from folks who saw the news on Friday night that WHNT News 19 had awarded us their Golden Spoon Award for receiving a high score! We sure appreciate those that posted on our Fanpage and Channel 19 for selecting us!
